Cooperating Brokers to Support Cooperative Work
نویسندگان
چکیده
We motivate the utility of brokering systems in CSCW and highlight the requirements of cooperative brokering. We also demonstrate how we have augmented the infrastructure of a prototype CSCW environment called SHASTRA to accomodate cooperative brokering. Several applications and possible scenarios of CSCW with cooperative brokering are a/so presented. We describe how cooperating brokers can be used to exploit plurality and commonality of tasks in a cooperative setting, improving throughput for the entire group.

This paper deals with system support for the design of CSCW environments. Our model introduces objects spaces shared by cooperating participants and cooperation spaces which group participants involved in a particular cooperation together. Objects spaces are only accessed via cooperation spaces. This makes our model strongly cooperation oriented. The Group notion structures our system, called O...
متن کاملContact: Support for Distributed Cooperative Writing
This paper presents a novel system to support the activities of distributed cooperative writing. The system builds upon the results from previous studies of cooperative work, and on a set of short focused studies of cooperative authoring to outline a framework and system to meet the requirements of cooperating authors. The system provides facilities to represent the decomposition of the writing...
متن کاملData Quality Notification in Cooperative Information Systems
Current approaches to the development of cooperative information systems are based on services to be offered by cooperating organizations, and on the opportunity of building coordinators and brokers on top of such services. The quality of data exchanged and provided by different services hampers such approaches, as data of low quality can spread all over the cooperative system. At the same time...
متن کاملAn Adaptive-Robust Control Approach for Trajectory Tracking of two 5 DOF Cooperating Robot Manipulators Moving a Rigid Payload
In this paper, a dual system consisting of two 5 DOF (RRRRR) robot manipulators is considered as a cooperative robotic system used to manipulate a rigid payload on a desired trajectory between two desired initial and end positions/orientations. The forward and inverse kinematic problems are first solved for the dual arm system. Then, dynamics of the system and the relations between forces/momen...
متن کاملA Process - Oriented and Content - Based Perspective Onsoftware
| Commercial software component models are frequently based on object-oriented concepts and terminology (e.g. interfaces, classes, methods, messages, events) with appropriate binding, persistence and distribution support. In this paper, we argue that a process-oriented and content-based view on cooperating software components based on the concepts and terminology of a language/action perspectiv...
